LinkedIn is huge! And it keeps growing. Just guess how many members are currently on this platform? 10 million? 100 million? How about over 360 million! That’s a lot of potential networking you’re missing out on. If your business doesn’t already have a LinkedIn company page, you should get one today. Once you start it up, you should keep these SEO tips in mind.
1. Add primary SEO keywords to your “Specialties” section. It seems that Google puts more emphasis on this area of your company page. You only have 256 characters to play with so be conscious of the keywords you want to add.
2. In your company description, place a few of your most important keywords right at the top. You should place a random character such as a “-” or “|” or “*” between each keyword.
3. Next, create a new paragraph and write up a few sentences about your company. Add in 2-5 of your target keywords.
4. Now you can make another new paragraph and write a more detailed description. In this longer paragraph, add up to 8 of your target keywords.
Bonus- When writing your descriptions, try to first focus on being compelling and engaging. Nobody wants to ready a paragraph that is full of obvious keywords like:
“At My Marketing Company, we are Toledo OH SEO firm that is number one in the Ohio marketing company space.”
Of course that sentence is full of juicy keywords, but it’s so hard to read and people may be put off by it. That’s why you should focus on crafting the description, but just keep in mind your keywords and add them in where they make sense. Like this sentence:
“My Marketing Company is a top player in the Ohio marketing space. We provide our customers a wide range of SEO and web design services to enhance their businesses’ presence on the web. If you are looking for a Toledo OH SEO firm, look no further!”
This sentence includes the keywords, but doesn’t make them a top priority. Try playing around with different ways to add in your keywords. Remember, some keywords just may not make good copy, so don’t focus too hard on them.
