We all know how dominant Facebook is in the social media space now, but it wasn’t always that way. Let’s a take a quick look at these maps by social media strategist Vincenzo Cosenza. They each show the most popular social media network in each country over a six month span, starting in June 2009, ending in December 2012. Looking at them, it’s fairly obvious how Facebook has functionally taken over the world over the past few years, and is creeping ever further over every other major platform out there. Those last few holdouts on the map are likely mostly there because of support from their home countries.
