What People Want Vs. What People Want – Starring Social Media

When you log onto Facebook, chances are you’ll see a lot of things people like and want — from food to clothes to interesting new gadgets, everyone is posting about things they find interesting and might like to have.
But when you talk to someone face-to-face and ask them seriously, What is the one thing you really want? chances are, you’ll get a more serious (and much different) set of answers.
As Matt Silverman of Mashable explains it,
The results show that people are generally emotional sharers when it comes to social media, but they are much more logical when asked a direct question. For instance, 80% of the “I want _____” updates were about food, whereas 50% of the survey responses were related to personal finance (money, financial security, a new car).
