MARKIT Group Facebook Tip: Embrace the Power of Tagging!

It’s time for Part III in our ongoing series of mini tips for better Facebook marketing! This week……
MARKIT Tip #103~ Embrace The Power of Tagging

Your company knows the importance of getting involved with the community. Whether it’s volunteering for a fundraising dinner, hosting a team building campaign for charitable cause, or being one of the sponsors for a local event, letting your customers and friends know that you are working to make a difference in the world around you is a fundamental way of building an honest and [profitable] business relationship.
Facebook can help you get the word out – here’s how:
Whenever you have an event, have someone from your staff on hand to take pictures. Upload those pictures to your Facebook fan page and invite fans to tag themselves. Also invite fans to upload their own photos to share and tag themselves in. Sharing photos will help fans feel like they are personally involved with the company and share in your dialogue. This strategy will also drive more traffic for your Facebook page, since Facebook updates the newsfeeds of its users with the latest activity of all of their friends. Thus you will reach a far greater number of people than actually went to your event or saw the photos firsthand, since their activity of posting or tagging photos shows up on their friends’ news feeds.
Happy tagging!
